Present your own research!
The Berkeley Economic Review, Students of Color in Economics and Undergraduate Women in Economics at Berkeley are offering undergraduate economics students the opportunity to present independent research in Cal’s first undergraduate-led Economics Research Showcase.
Participants will have the opportunity to talk about their current research projects in front of other students and a panel of three to five professors and graduate students in the department, who will provide feedback and suggestions to each student. We especially encourage students who are currently working on their senior thesis to participate, though all students working on independent projects are welcome to apply.

This is a learning opportunity for all students involved, so the research projects in question do not have to be finalized. However, due to the quick turnaround, we will ask interested students to submit a short research proposal with the following included:
  • Clear research question and hypothesis
  • Summary statistics and data visualization
  • Preliminary results
  • Planned direction for the rest of the project
Note that we do not seek to eliminate applicants. The proposal exists so we understand that there is enough existing material to meet the successive deadlines.

The deadline to apply as a presenter is Monday, April 15 at 11:59 pm. BER will reach out to selected participants the next day. The showcase itself will take place later on Thursday, April 18 from 7 PM – 9 PM at Evans 648.
Please send proposals or other inquiries to berkeleyeconreview@gmail.com with “[Research Showcase]” in the subject line.
